Permanent Makeup
What is Permanent Makeup (PMU)?
PMU has many different names; Micropigmentation, Semi-permanent makeup, Microblading and Cosmetic tattooing to name a few. I prefer to refer to it as Permanent as we can never be certain how long it will last in the skin.
PMU is a state-of-the-art technique, that permanently applies makeup via intradermal micropigmentation. A tattoo machine is used to implant pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. PMU pigments are different to tattoo inks. Modern PMU pigments have come a long way in recent years and are now designed to fade and will need to be topped up every 12-24 months to keep the work fresh and sharp.
I personally use a PMU machine for my treatments. This is a pen style device, similar to what tattooists use. It operates at a much lower frequency allowing for a softer and more gentle experience.

What PMU treatments do I offer?
Eyebrows
-
Powder/Ombre- A shaded, soft powder effect, very similar to powder makeup.
-
Hairstroke - resembles natural eyebrows as single lines are implanted into the skin to resemble individual hairs.
-
Combination – this is literally a combination of individual hairstokes and soft powder shading.

Eyeliner
Pigment is implanted into the lash line to give the appearance of eyeliner and can also be referred to as a lash enhancement.

Lips
Lip blush enhances and defines both the natural shape and colour of natural lips. It can help achieve a fuller lip without fillers. It is not possible to tattoo outside of the natural lip line known as the vermillion boarder.

Brows and Lashes
What is a Lash Lift?
A Lash Lift is cosmetic procedure using a chemical process that alters the shape of the natural eyelashes by enhancing them. After the treatment they will appear longer, thicker, fuller and more curled.
To begin with, I will stick down your lower lashes to enable me to separate them from your upper lashes. I will then carefully paint the lashes upwards onto a curling rod. Next, I will apply the products necessary to set your lashes into a new curled position. Finally I complete the look by tinting the upper lashes. (A patch test will be required at least 24hrs before your first treatment with me).
What is Brow Lamination?
Brow lamination is an eyebrow perming treatment that involves correcting the brow shape by setting the hairs in place using a chemical solution which will manipulate the hairs into a new position. This will create a beautiful, fuller looking brow.
I will begin by using a product that positions your hairs into their new ideal shape. Once you are happy with the positioning, I will apply the products to set them into their new shape. Following this I will tint your hairs to complement your hair and skin tone. Finally, I will wax and tweezer any unruly hairs to give them a nice tidy shape. (A patch test will be required at least 24hrs before treatment).

Reflexology
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology has become one of the most popular forms of complementary therapies practiced today. Reflexology is a holistic therapy that uses the feet to treat the whole body. Reflexology works on the whole person rather than the just one particular symptom. The feet are used as a map, or mirror of the whole body. By manipulating, massaging and applying pressure to certain parts of the feet, the whole body can be retuned and brought back into balance. Any part of the body can be accessed and stimulated by massaging the corresponding area on the feet or hands, this stimulates the body’s own healing processes, in order to keep it in homeostasis. It encourages both relaxation and stimulation, benefiting the body as a whole.
What can I expect from my first appointment?
We allow 90 minutes for the first appointment. Firstly, we will go through your medical and social history so we can begin to develop a treatment plan. You will then be asked to remove your shoes and socks and will be made comfortable for the treatment. We will then ‘read your feet’. Basically, we are looking for any contraindications for treatment. Also, we will be looking at things like the colour, temperature and flexibility of your feet. Your feet will then be cleansed ready to begin the Reflexology treatment. For this we will possibly use a wax to help glide over the surface. At the end of the session, we will discuss our findings and then provide aftercare advice and then possibly plan a course of treatment tailored for your individual needs.

Swedish Massage is one of the most common types of Massage Therapy. I use a combination of my hands, fingers, thumbs, wrists and elbows to slide over the skin to apply deep pressure using relaxing, flowing movements and brisk, vigorous techniques.
What is Hot Stone Massage?
Clinically it is the application of thermotherapy using heated basalt stones. The basalt stones give a reenergising response to the body. The treatment is a mind, body and spirit experience where you will reach the point of ultimate relaxation. The stones work on what the body needs. If the stones lose heat quickly in one particular area, it is because that area needs the heat to help heal. One massage stroke with the stone is equivalent to ten massage strokes by hand.

In addition to the benefits of massage, the essential oils will produce specific effects on the body systems and the emotions, promoting relaxation, reducing stress and potentially improving overall well-being.The essential oils used are plant derived extracts with strong aromas. These are diluted in a carrier oil (I use Grapeseed), and then massaged into the skin. The aromas of the essential oils are also inhaled, which can also have calming and mood boosting effects.
How do I incorporate Aromatherapy into my Treatments?
Aromatherapy can be added to any massage treatment when booking. Just choose this additional add on when you book. After a consultation, we will choose 3 essential oils that can target a particular condition. We will test different aromas and find a combination to suit your specific needs.
Facials
What are the Therapeutic and Physical Effects of a Facial?
-
Removes dead skin cells
The top layer of our skin is composed entirely of dead cells between 10-30 layers thick. This gives our skin a dull appearance. Exfoliation is the process of removing the dead skin cells from the surface revealing the new skin beneath. Exfoliation also starts the process of unclogging the pores. This increases the skin's ability to absorb creams deeper. As a result, skin looks brighter and feels softer. In addition, exfoliation can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. During a facial I use exfoliation products to aid in the removal of dead skin cells. You could also opt for a dermaplaning facial which not only removes the dead skin cells, but also the little peach fuzz hairs leaving your skin fresh and smooth.

-
Reduces Fine Lines & Wrinkles
The cleansing, exfoliation, and hydration that occurs during a facial can help to plump up the skin and smooth out lines caused by dehydration and ageing. Facial massage activates the circulation in your face. Regular facial treatments help to stimulate collagen and elastin production
-
Clears Congested Skin
deep cleansing is good for oily skin the products used will work deep into the pores clearing them of dirt, oil, and other impurities. Opting for a facial that uses steam will allow for the pores to open making the extraction of blackheads and whiteheads easier.
Facials also help with the following:
-
Removes toxins and waste from the tissues.
-
Improves the blood circulation and therefore increases the amount of oxygen and nutrients delivered to the area. It also assists with the removal of carbon dioxide and waste products.
-
Due to the increased circulation, cells receive nourishment, which increases cell division and improves their condition.

-
Soothes and stimulates the sensory nerve endings.
-
The Products used will nourish the skin.
-
The sebaceous glands are stimulated and produce additional sebum which keeps the skin supple and protected.
-
The warmth generated by the massage causes the sweat gland to perspire which eliminates waste.
-
Skin tone and elasticity is improved.
-
Deeply relaxing and uplifting for the mental state.

Waxing

I will use either warm wax or hot wax depending on the area we are waxing. Any services with an * will be carried out entirely, or partly with hot wax.
For larger areas such as arms and legs, warm wax is best. I apply using a roller, or wooden spatula, which is then removed using strips.
I use hot wax on intimate and delicate/sensitive areas of the body as it is much kinder to the skin. The heat of the wax helps to open the pores and adheres better to hairs. This type of wax is especially effective at removing shorter, coarser hairs and is less likely to pull the skin. The wax is applied using a spatula and then allowed to cool and harden. Once set it is then removed without a strip.
Please allow 4 weeks for hair growth to get the best treatment results.
